Need some insight on a handpan purchase please !

Hello all,

I wanted to know if any of you guys heard about BP handpan Aeolian scale. BP for Balkan Pan.
It's a guy that make his own handpan in Slovenia.

I wanted to know if it is a good purchase, if any of you know about Balkan Pan.

I don't know those instruments.
But it's extremely expensive for a handpan which still need many years of work and research.
Some builders who make very better handpans sell their instrument for only $1300-$1500.
Economise a little longer to find a most accomplished instrument, or while spend less in an medium quality handpan to start building your game.
Keep you informed of the "Buy It Now" sales from some good builders

I wouldn't buy it nor would I recommend anyone I know buy it. Furthermore, I'd call that a scam handpan "replica".

In my opinion, it sounds fuzzy, too metallic and without much sustain. I would spare my money for a better opportunity.

I have been looking for a hangdrum in the past years, and never got the chance to find one.
PanArt of course i will never get, but even the alternatives like Bell and Halo are not possible to get.

Do any of you guys know a builder, or a source where i can get one ?

I'm starting to feel desperate here after 7 years of obsession.

My sympathies. How to find one: keep coming here, at least daily, and read as much as you can on the forum - in all the different places. Get on the waiting lists of the builders, including new ones. Do all you can to attend various gatherings (where you can likely play pans belonging to others). Watch for sudden flash sales of pans by various makers, including some of the top shelf ones. Of course, watch the swap and sale forum.

Introduce yourself on the Welcome forum (if you haven't already done that).

Opportunities arise when you make yourself available to others!

Some people landed here and found handpans in weeks--not everyone, but...
Take advantage of the advice and experience of the members.
Could be only a matter of months. But what is interesting does not happen on eBay.

Just by the fact you came here, you made a big step to acquire your first handpan more faster than before.

i wouldnt call it a Bad handpan but 1600$ to my opinion is way too much for the quality presented..
(i personally sold prototypes on ebay which sounded way better for half of that price..)
