Sadly i learned of Michaels' death yesterday.

He battled illnesses for many many years even before the integral part he took in the online Hang communities over the last 14 or so years.

I will miss him....he leaves a void.

May he rest in peace and be assured that his memory will live on.

I was in shock when I heard the news yesterday as well!!! :? It made me realize once again how fragile life is.

Like many persons, I had my divergences with him but at the same time I have to admire his dedication and commitment to the cause he was defending. Im sure his blog was and will be a source of information for many of us... a piece of history.

He will for sure be remembered.

Thanks for posting this MC. While I often found myself on the other end of the discussion/disagreement/argument with Paschko I always respected his knowledge and position. His dedication to his path will undoubtedly be missed.

FOR MICHAEL PASCHKO - IN MEMORIAM :

Dear Michael, on the morning of 24th of September you left this world.
Your suffering was over, you passed away peacefully.

Although you had to fight a serious illness for many years, you were full of untiring creative power.
As the author of Hangblog (http://www.hangblog.org), you have created the most important information platform on the internet regarding the instruments Hang,
Gubal and other wonderful creations by PANArt.
And at the same time you've been a reliable employee for PANArt for many years and quietly did a lot of useful work for them in the background.

Some of us had the opportunity to meet you personally - e.g. at the PANArt gatherings. Others communicated with you on the internet
- sometimes controversial, when you found it necessary to dispel inaccuracies in regard to PANArt and their instruments.
And a few others may not have noticed you, because you never pushed yourself into the foreground, as you were always a gentle person...

But everyone who knew you closer, knew about your years of illness and how bravely you fought against it.
You've never complained, but instead have always reported quite calmly and factually (e.g. about the state of therapy) when you were asked about it.

Dear Michael, you were a very sincere, pleasant and lovable person with great seriousness on one side - but also with quite a lot of humor.
You will be unforgotten and the traces of your work will linger on in the world of Hang and Pang.

I was some months quite far from all soundsculptures informations and hang/handpan world.
I just see this info & just

I could just remember how many time i took on hangblog, how many pages read and reread.
Even if all were'nt agree if Michael, i personnaly always had a huge pleasure reading him.
So much informations, discussions, and finaly evolution in my way of looking steel soundsculpture.

I remember the first day on hangblog, around 2008, when i was student, looking on all internet where i can find any information on a strange instrument seen on french musician Mathieu Chedid concert.
Michael, open the door of all this world for me, thanks for all your contribution and discussion.
Michael create a dream in me which happens about 7 years after playing on my own Panart soundsculpture.

I'm quite sure many will think about you and your memory will stay with us for a long time.

Does anyone have a link to that Star Trek Comic that he put together years ago? Very funny!
