We've had our Innersound (Ursa Minor, (D) A Bb D E F G A) for a month now and we're loving it. I say we, my wife Gillian is a singer and this is her first time with a percussion instrument (am I allowed to say that?). Today we bought cotton gloves and the result is really interesting. Being thinner metal than the 'big 4' you really have to be careful where and how hard you play, with gloves it is more forgiving and a lovely soft sound. I've just finished a Kool Drum Nova in the same tuning with a top Bb, can't wait to combine the sounds! Video soon.

Awesome! I have an Innersound coming my way right now too, should be here in a couple of weeks. This is the scale I chose.

Congrates mate on your new pan!!! I really love my innersounds!!!

@ metalutier, I spent 6 months exploring 8 different types of gloves. The cotton knit gloves are my second favorite next to silk glove liners by thermosilk. If silk panties feel like these, I think I need a few pair. They offer the perfect sound on the innersounds and also absolute freedom to the hands and fingers. There is virtually no friction on the muscles. I can't recommend them enough!!! Loved them so much, I immediately bought 2 more pair.

I have rather long fingers and the XL is perfect.

Can't help but comment... All the "D Dorish" Innersounds that I've seen so far have nothing to do with the Dorian scale... they're all Aeolian or at least closer to that. Dorian D minor has a B instead of Bb.

Of course, names, words and labels have nothing to do with the actual beauty or the sound of the scale, but if we're gonna speak about scales, I wish we at least used the same vocabulary...

Naming scales properly is more difficult than one is likely to think... There must be a topic on that somewhere on the forum. But please, using wrong names is just ignorant.

Hi Wuola,

thanks for the precision.
I haven't got any formation in music, and scales.

I play on various drums for 10 years, i may be ignorant in terms of precise scales and knowledge about this
, but i take pleasure on every drum i play and that's the most important.
More precisely for the handpans, the scale is not really important, the feeling and sensations it gives to you is the most important.
Thanks for your precision, i may look at the posts about the scales name and correspondance, even if my memory isn't perfect for this.

Hi all, finaly received my so nice innersound today.
Sounds really good for what i've seen at first, ding is singing perfectly to my opinion.

The shape is just quite diferent of what i think about before. I was thinking it's a bigger diameter and less important height.
Finally the shape is more like a globe that what i think, but not a problem at all.
May be, the shape help to have this deep sound...

Just have to explore it now...
