this video will help:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... Kj7V_JIsb4

also if you want to see exactly how the STG sounds with all the harmonics then watch:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ke0OH2M-U1s

writing here with that Beaware title is very uncomfortable.. my journey in getting my sculpture has been fabulous and everyday i am happy for my purchase.. it irritates me and for sure will irritate other persons that like me have this instrument living in their homes and are part of their life..

I'd like to see videos coming from others than STG, of course. The sound is not bad but whenever this family of instruments is concerned, the questions that keep coming back (and often with not so good answers) are 1) is the quality constant from one instrument to another ? and 2) is the tuning stable ?

i am practicing everyday new patterns and melodies to get the skills for a good video.. the sound is loud, i play it gently but some times hard and the notes respondes well to my blows with my fingers.. for me the tuning stabilizes very well..

Alright guys I finally made a video of the one of these pans here in Austin (so many names, not sure which one to use). It has the notorious ding issue that another forum member also experienced. The owner tried to contact the makers but they never replied back.

Seeing that Mr Jeremy put the SAME video in 2 threads i feel free to say here the same thing!

are you crazy? that is NOT an STG.. don´t try to fool people with that!..anyway I see 1 note very out of tune in that but if that is an STG then this is a hang drum: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQk_JovCzec :giggle:

Suggest your friend to contact the tuners of the STG to help him with that or contact other makers but telling that big lie irritates me so much.. anyway i am having so much fun here writing in this forum.. this is my new favorite hobby!

I do know that you are very obsessed in damaging the reputation of this brand but telling lies to people is not the method. :o

Well here's the thing psanchez...

Everything concerning the evolution of this "family" of handpans is circumspect (in question). There is no transparency. No one will say their connections. No one will answer why whole product names have been dropped. No one will answer why whole websites have been abandoned. No one will give a decent biography of this "family" of makers. It is all cloudy.

Hanpan.US = Hernan Drum = Sagittarius = STG

It is all the same as far as we know. Jeremy D's post is an STG as far as we know and is completely on target for this conversation.

Second, and probably most disturbing is this notion that someone can "with a bit of intelligence" can fix their handpan. That is just flat-out dangerous information. And your statement is very insulting.

for me is enough for me to know that if you are a normal person and have a bit of intelligence and you have and accident in your hand pan and if you want to save money on air shippings then you will be able to retune part of a note with some detailed instructions! but with a a lack of common sense and learning capacities I guess not.

viewtopic.php?p=95643#p95643

That is why topics about Hanpan.US = Hernan Drum = Sagittarius = STG will always go into "Buyer Beware". I would never tell someone what to do, but Buyer Beware is the best place for this "family" of handpans.

Finally, I'm glad you are happy with your handpan.

Of course, not only this one but the others too! As a panless person i think i must do that in order to make a future decision...

psanchez wrote: if you read the description those are the first touches of that person on a hand pan instrument.. and also that model is listed as a earlier model..

In case you haven't noticed, i'm Portuguese, none of that is refered in the description of that video!

Thank you very much for those videos.
