The plot thickens.

I have never seen a fake ad/scam allow a local pick-up. What would you pick up?

Well, by a pick upn it's less oe egual expensive as to send it, it's more secure & you can try/see the instrumetn before pay.
But yes, the question is, why a scam would accept a pick up option?

Another thing you can do if you cannot pick up the instrument locally, is to ask for another photo of the instrument with a piece of paper with todays date written on it.
